Geoffrey Doig-Marx is the Artistic Director and Founder of "The Mantis Project" Dance Company, and Creator/Artistic Director of "The Elan Awards" (an annual showcase that honors a choreographer who has changed the face of dance and showcases the work of fourteen additional choreographers).

Mr. Doig-Marx received a Certificate of Excellence in Cultural Achievement from C. Virginia Fields Manhattan Borough President office of The Mayor of New York City for his work with The Elan Awards. In 2005 along with then Co-Producer Dance Spirit Magazine, The Elan awards honored Susan Stroman with special guests The Original Cast of Contact. Past honorees of the award include Graciella Daniele, Jerry Mitchell, Ann Reinking, Rob Marshall and Lar Lubovitch.

Currently, Mr.Doig-Marx is working with The Tesler Agency on The 2009 Elan Awards. In the summer of 2008, along with Tricia Arenson, Geoffrey launched The Elan Summer Dance Festival in Provincetown Mass. Geoffrey is currently working with LA Composer Peter Michael von der Nahmer on a ballet based on story ideas from HP Lovecraft set to tour. . He has two shows that opened the month of September 2008, “It’s a Woman’s World”, and “One Night Only” with Lea Delaria and is currently working on The Ann Margaret Story. TBA

The summer of 2008 and 2007, Geoffrey was Creative Associate on Broadway Bares 17 at Roseland in NYC. (Assistant Choreographer to Director Denis Jones for Broadway Bares 2006 and Creator/Executive Producer Jerry Mitchell). In March 2008, Geoffrey's piece entitled "Need" (based on Punk Rocker Sid Vicious girlfriend Nancy Spungen) was selected by Michael Blevins and Justin Boccitto to be presented at The Group Theatre Too Festival and In May 2008 his piece "BLINK" was presented at New York Jazz Choreography Project.

Mr. Doig-Marx is currently on faculty at Marymount Manhattan College, ARB's Princeton Ballet, Rider University and The Pulse in Westchester. He is a member of "Actor's Equity" and an Associate Member of "The Society of Stage Directors and Choreographers".

Previously on Staff at Broadway Dance Center, Broadway Dance Center Childrens Program, STEPS, Ballet Arts, Puerto Rican Traveling Theater, and *PDT (*Princeton Dance and Theatre- Susan Jaffe's School).

Mr. Doig-Marx is listed in "What's Hot New York" and has choreographed for various theaters, throughout the United States, Canada and Europe.

As a performer Mr. Doig-Marx appeared in the Equity National Tours and Regional Theater Productions of West Side Story, Pippin, A Chorus Line, Dames at Sea, Cabaret, La Cage aux Folles, Fiddler on the Roof, Jesus Christ Superstar and many others.

Geoffrey received "The Harkness Choreographers Grant" from Suny Purchase and a Choreographers grant from New Dance Group in New York City. He is a big animal rights supporter and a member of the ASPCA.

Mr. Doig-Marx wrote a tell all book about his days as a Disney dancer entitled
"Not Only Magic Floats".
